Health Data: Personalized Outcomes
By now, either you or someone close to you, is wearing an Apple watch, Garmin, or FitBit. Technology in personal fitness allows people to track information that helps them to exercise more, sleep better, and keep an eye on their overall health.
So what about data in medicine?
Unfortunately, most of healthcare has not caught on to the power that data can provide in healing and recovery.
Competitive EDGE Physical Therapy, on the other hand, is the Bay Area leader in using "movement data" for healing. Using state-of-the-art 3D sensors, force plate, pressure sensing treadmill, and high speed video we are able to provide pinpoint diagnosis and cutting EDGE real-time biofeedback which results in faster recovery times and more optimal outcomes.
The video analysis and feedback our specialists use has been a game-changer for patients to be able to truly "see" movement which creates a deeper understanding of what optimal movement looks like. Often, physical therapy and rehabilitation can be confusing with the technical terms and novel exercises; however, with video feedback and research grade muscle EMG (feedback on muscle activation), the goals are plain to see and understand.
We Value Your TIME
We know you are making a sacrifice out of your busy schedule to find a solution to your injury and that's why every visit with us is 1 full hour one-on-one with a movement specialist. Unlike most other clinics that see 2-4 patients per hour, and use unskilled aides to help with part of your session, we know you want to work with the best and that's why with us, you will always be seen one-on-one by a movement specialist.
We Value Your GOALS
We know, during treatment, you want to see progress at each visit. We believe there is a "system" to movement. We apply this system to a progressive treatment plan designed for your specific needs. By consistently reviewing skills learned at previous sessions while providing education on new movement patterns you will learn the principles of optimal pain free movement. Our progressive systems, along with your hard work, will help you reach your goals quickly. (Plus...we won't give you boring easy exercises you could just do at home anyway).
We Value Your FITNESS
Movement is necessary to enjoy your life. We don't believe that "rest" is the cure for everything. We want you to be as active as possible during your recovery. Movement brings more movement! Even if your injury demands a temporary break from that specific activity, we will work with you to find another avenue for fitness and conditioning. Your overall health is important and being injured can affect your energy and motivation. We are here to partner with you in the journey to keep you moving strong!
What Other Clients Are Saying...
"I am very happy with the results I have seen after only four visits to Competitive Edge PT. I had been dealing with multiple issues for over a year now; knees that swell up with any pounding activity, tennis elbow on both sides and a back that was prone to problems. I really wanted to join my family on an intense backpacking trip at the end of summer, but I was struggling with the training. When my back went out in May I knew I needed to do something different. Kevin gave me the confidence that I could get over these issues and still have time to train sufficiently for my trip. What I like about Kevin's philosophy is that he focused on the root of the problem. He studied the way I moved, educated me on how certain movements exacerbated my problems, and showed me exercises that would help to strengthen my muscles and manage pain before it became a problem. Thanks to Kevin's help I am training hard and will soon begin my big trip with confidence." -Kari
