I am excited to be writing this post about the opening of Competitive EDGE Physical Therapy in San Jose. It has been a vision and dream of mine for quite some time to open a physical therapy practice and to see the first steps in the building of the practice is a real joy. To have the idea is one thing but to finally be a part of the unfolding of that plan is exciting and a challenging but rewarding creative process. I will be writing updates on the building out of this specialized physical therapy and motion analysis center over the next few weeks.
Competitive EDGE Physical Therapy is a small practice in the San Jose/Almaden community. I have intended to keep it small to give a true personalized experience. I feel blessed to have the support of my family who have been a huge help in brining countless boxes and materials to the center from our home garage. My wife Chrissy and three children Jack, Emma, and Max have been there helping from the start with everything from choosing the great location at Princeton Plaza Mall to choosing paint colors and lifting office chairs.
Awesome space for a remote controlled car!
Over the last few weeks the necessities of our office and center have trickled in from the work of our hands and various helpful retailers. I owe my father-in-law a great deal for helping me move the desks and I owe my wife Chrissy as well for helping me build the equipment. Those delivery pallets are heavier than you think!
It was great to finally receive our specialized force pressure treadmill from Noraxon! It took some handiwork to get it through the door but it is safe and sound and ready for installation. I am really excited about what this treadmill can do. It is able to measure the exact pressure patterns of how you walk on each foot as well as how that pressure changes during your gait cycle. It can measure valuable parameters such as stride length, step length, duration of stance and is able to produce a side to side comparison. I am really looking forward to using this treadmill to fully track, analyze, and improve gait. Currently it is waiting to be unpacked and installed.

It was been an awesome journey so far at Competitive EDGE and I am excited for all that is to come. Thanks for checking in and taking this journey with us and look for more posts to come over the next weeks.
